Glenwood Springs Has An Incredible Selection Of Eating Out Options
Sunday, November 21st, 2010If most people in our nation are like me, much of the decision making process concerning how much they like a place is dependent on the dining varieties available there. Seem a little weird? Well, try residing in a town with more restaurants per capita than any other place in the United States and then relocating to a town where you can’t find a good breakfast joint to save your life. It’s not a laughing matter.
Luckily for the residents and visitors in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, they don’t have such a problem. Regardless of the reason for dining out, could be fine dining or fast food, Glenwood seems to have everything. The vast variety of eating establishments includes unique local joints as well as wonderful chain restaurants, both nation-wide and regional chains.
I’m a sucker for delicious Mexican fare, Italian eats, and BBQ, and several of my favorite spots for these options are right here in Glenwood Springs. To start, let me introduce Fiesta Guadalajara. If you love Mexican food, look no further. The food, the staff, and the vibe are enough to keep us coming back again and again, and each time I try something different, it’s just as delicious as what I had last time. If you’re not in the mood to eat, I’ve spent hours enjoying good company over one or two of Fiesta’s delicious margaritas or other specialty drinks. So, if you’re trying to find for a place to take your party for an evening of delicious Mexican food or if you’re looking to sit and enjoy a drink with the Glenwood people, Fiesta Guadalajara is a wonderful option.
Now, you may have tried a Rib City before, since it’s not unique to Glenwood Springs. It is, though, however, far from a dime-a-dozen national chain where everything tastes a little too processed or mass produced. Rib City doesn’t just serve ribs, but a full range of everything BBQ and then some. No matter if it’s ribs you’d like, a brisket sandwich, smoked turkey, or just a side of coleslaw, it all tastes exactly the way BBQ was intended to taste. You’ll have no trouble believing that your food was freshly crafted with nothing but the greatest quality in mind.

My favorite food of all, however, is Italian. Something about the way fine wine can go so nicely with pasta meals, shrimp and lobster, and vegetables makes me hungry just thinking about it. If you’re like me, you’ll definitely love Italian Underground. It’s so popular, you could have to wait a little longer than you’re habituated to, but I promise it’s worth it. The atmosphere by itself is absolutely worth checking out, as this local favorite is tucked away in a basement decorated the way Ray Liotta and Robert De Niro would appreciate. Make sure you pop into Italian Underground next venture to Glenwood.
Of course there are a few other fine dining places I should mention. Rivers, Juicy Lucy’s, and the Riviera are all great local places. Fin’s is a great place in town to eat for fish and seafood, and the Brewpub has arguably the best local Glenwood atmosphere in town. a couple more of my favorite restaurants impossible not to discuss are Village Smithy, not far down highway 82 in Carbondale, and Taipei Tokyo. Village Smithy has definitely the best breakfast I’ve ever tasted, and Taipei Tokyo in Glenwood dishes up some awesome Asian eats.
Ok, so how’s that for dining variety? Next time you come through Glenwood, you should have no trouble at all finding a great place to eat.
