Once the ring came in to Frodo’s hands, by way of inheritance from his uncle Bilbo Baggins, along with the property, his life and the lives of his three friends changed for ever. Other characters like Gandol, the white, Aragon, the human warrior, Boromir another human warrior, the elf archer Legolas and Gimli the dwarf form the fellowship of the ring to destroy the corrupt wizard Saruman. Frodo has to travel to Mordor to destroy the ring. His journey is going to take him across Moria which is filled with magic, dark riders on dark horses, ghosts, ringwraiths, giant trolls and orcs - rotten teeth and flesh, foul smelling, gigantic, ugly beasts.

The only protection that Frodo has is the ring iteself along with an invisibility cloak and a sword. Frodo is the only other human who carries this ring more than anyone else besides Saruman himself. Though his health is affected in a negative way, by the end of the third part, on account of being the ring bearer, he understands his duties and tries to fulfill it with all the determination only a young hobbit possesses. The elf princesses, Arwen, with her delicate unearthly beauty and strange elf tongue adds romance in the movie. Many exciting battles are fought in all three parts. Not a moment is spent comfortably in your seat, because your wondering what’s going to happen next.

Gollum is the most interesting character in the film. He contradicts himself constantly. His duel shaded character, the pitiful good side struggling not to be overcome by the revengeful, poisonous bitter side is portrayed well. It is because of Gollum being at the right place, at the right time that Frodo is successful, in going undetected while entering in to Mordor. Gollum leads him in to Mordor through hidden paths and short cuts. Gollum’s longing for his ‘precious’, the ring, ends the story the way it does because in the final moments, even Frodo for a second is overcome by the power of the ring, and wants to keep it for himself.

Nisei, in Nihonggo, means ’second generation’ (’ni’ meaning two, and ’sei’ probably meaning generation). Nisei Week draws the attention and the support of both Japanese and non-Japanese festival goers, due to its grand floats and parades, and the month long activities that soon follow. The festival grounds of the Nisei festival is tremendous. Following the original structure of the Japanese matsuri (or festival), the streets are lined with booths that are filled with food, games, prizes and others. There was once a free-admission carnival and art show, but they were removed, and/or changed. Up 2006, an eating contest consisting of Japanese pot stickers or “gyoza” was added.
