Minnie Mouse Partyware You Can’t Do Without

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Yes, it’s true. Minnie Mouse is 80 years old. Yet, she is the same flirty girl she was way back then. She could find more ways to get Mickey into trouble. But then, Mickey never needed much excuse!

Save yourself a lot of trouble at your child’s birthday party with minnie mouse birthday supplies. The Minnie Mouse Deluxe Pack includes all the party supplies you need: Minnie Mouse invitations, plates, cups, and tons more. It also provides gifts for the guests. Hey, Minnie isn’t the only one who likes to get presents, right?

The Polka Dot Favor Boxes are just so Minnie. Each one contains pastel crayons, a pink heart mirror and brush, and a really fun activity book. Keep the partygoers busy with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse mix-up activity.

Use the Minnie Mouse Mylar balloons to decorate the room. Take advantage of the pre-printed “Thank You” notes to express your gratitude to every guest and thoughtful parent.

Choose the text you want on the personalized Minnie Mouse Birthday Banner. No one can say “Welcome to the Party!” like Minnie can. It is 61 inches wide by 18 inches high, so no one will miss it. It also has metal grommets. No need to worry about tears if you hold the party outside. The vinyl surface will weather any storm, natural or kid-made.

Don’t forget the party hats. In traditional Disney style, these Mickey Mouse ears are great. Or, choose the ones with a bow, just like Minnie’s.

Complete the setting by choosing a Mickey Mouse pinata. The streamers make it decorative and, at 17″ high, it will hold lots of fun toys and candy for the kids. Give the string a pull and the goodies come tumbling down to the sounds of delighted squeals.

How about a Minnie Mouse Stand-Up? She greets each guest and invites each one to take a picture with her. She stands 3′6″ high, so she might even be a little taller than some of the guests. But she’s very easy to put together and provides a great decoration.

Now you must be ready to sit down and have a little drink from one of the Minnie Mouse Tumblers. Donald will give you lots of advice you can’t understand and Minnie will translate.

Minnie Mouse is 80, sure. But isn’t it astounding that Disney can keep on inventing new minnie mouse birthday party stuff every year for her to do at a birthday party? Mickey is still shaking his head in amazement.

How to be a Great Party Host

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Many people ask how to make every party go off without a hitch. Although they may think that everything is going perfectly, in the past there have been several party mishaps, but fortunately, the hostess kept her cool and thought things through, and the party guests never suspected a thing. That is the key to throwing the perfect party, keeping your cool.

If an issue arises during the party don’t bring it up, most guests won’t notice if a certain item is missing, only the host or hostess will know. Arrange for additional food and drinks in case of extra guests, something burns or is dropped. Have an idea of where the food items will be placed on the table, make a drawing to help visualize. If there is any mechanical involvement make sure that is working prior to arrival of guests.

Borrowing dishes, devices, etc for the party should be done as soon as possible so those items are there the day of the party. If someone else is supposed to bring ice or something similar they may forget it so have those items on your own. Make plans so that all the setup is done early.

Planning ahead for food allows more creativity in the menu, as lots of menu items can be prepared early and refrigerated. This allows for time to do other items the day of the party. There may be some simple preparation that others can help with while more complex chores are handled by the host or hostess. Self serve is the best arrangement so the host or hostess are able to spend their time socializing instead of serving the guests.

Finally remember, that it is not about throwing a party without problems, but about making it seem as if it is flawless, even when it is not.

Avoiding The Snags Of Outdoor Wedding Planning

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Outdoor wedding organization is a bit more complicated than its indoor marriage counterpart. More things have to be taken into account, such as the weather, more details about the setting, and the presence of any stinging insects. But it is well worth it.

Just to be on the safe side, it is advisable to have an alternative indoors place for the outdoors wedding, to safeguard yourself and your guests if the weather turns sour. In out of the way locations, it is best to hire a big catering tent to erect near the chosen spot.

Sometimes, certain parks or other wonderful natural areas, well suited for an outdoors wedding, are managed by an organization that does not have a lot of experience with hosting marriages. In that case, you should be extra careful to check that their side of the organization runs smoothly.

Make sure that all the needed infrastructure will be available for your outdoor wedding day. Things such as portable toilets are fundamental if there are no close restrooms, and in remote locations where there is no electricity you may need a generator to ensure availability of lighting.

As for decorations, at an outdoor wedding Mother Nature provides most of them, with plants, flora, and a beautiful view such as the ocean from a beach. But you may want to add to all this somewhat. Many couples choose a wedding arch or other central element to provide a focal point for the ceremony.

There are several retailers of wedding arches with well-designed internet sites, who offer different styles of arches for all kinds of marriage ceremonies. With the wide choice available, you are guaranteed to find a wedding arch that suits your expectations and style.

Wedding arches are also quite portable, so you can always move them if you need to change location at the last minute. If you want some extra decoration, flowers are best, either in pots or of the cut variety. You can put these up yourself, or you can have a florist do the work for you.

One important thing to remember when informing your guests about the upcoming marriage is that the wedding will be held outdoors, and that you should give them the right information allowing them to plan their dress accordingly. How warm is it going to be, and is there any risk of rain or wind gusts?

Still concerning the guests, make sure that everyone, including elderly or people with impaired walking ability, will manage to get to the location. You may want to organize a shuttle with an all-road vehicle if the place is far from a paved road.

Concerning the wedding couple’s dress, they should also be adapted to the weather and season. The bride should opt for a rather short and not too complicated dress so that she will be comfortable in the setting. High heels are also best avoided at an outdoor wedding.

The Dark Side of the Mother’s Day

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Mother’s Day as we know it is a very profound and cheerful day. On this day we honor our mothers, and give them presents. We enjoy spending time with them and sharing old memories. It’s simply a very nice and sweet occasion to celebrate.

But very few people know the sad story of the founder of this day. Anna Marie Jarvis will always be remembered as the original author of this beautiful idea, and the story would end happily if it was not for the black stain on its past.

On May 12 of 1907 Anna Marie Jarvis has held a memorial for her mother who died two years earlier. After that day she took on a campaign to make the Mother’s Day a widely recognized day. She finally succeeded to do that and in 1914 it has become a national holiday.

As it were, the holiday has quickly become commercialized and Anna Marie didn’t appreciate that at all. In the 20s she incorporated herself as the “Mother’s Day International Association” and claimed the copyright of the second Sunday of May.

She was active in her campaign against the commercialization and even once was arrested for disturbing peace. She has spent her family heritage on her campaigns against the holiday she created and died in poverty.

Truly a sad story and that gives food for thought. The true meaning of this wonderful day has been taken over by cheesy gifts and to cite Anna Marie Jarvis, “A printed card means nothing except that you are too lazy to write to the woman who has done more for you than anyone in the world”; that stands true way too often.

Let’s not forget the meaning of this wonderful day and honor our mothers from our heart. It’s not the gifts that matter but your love. Give her a gift but make it symbol of your love.

For a one-package-has-it-all selection, go for the Pokemon Deluxe Pack. It includes Pokemon plates, cups, and napkins. When you serve great cake and juice the Pokemon characters will share the table. The activity mats will keep the partygoers entertained, too. Don’t forget the Pokemon centerpiece. You can use it for several parties, so it’s a great value.

You can also use the crepe paper rolls, Mylar balloons, and cake candles to complete the decorations. Set the Pokemon stand up in the corner to keep an eye on everything. The birthday boy or girl is sure to want to stand it up in the bedroom after the party.

Those same beloved characters are featured in the Favor Boxes. Containing crayons and a notepad, your dreamer can write down his or her ideas. Save the bouncy ball for later when the games begin.

Take advantage of the Extreme Party Pack and you’ll get all those items plus Pokemon tattoos, glow sticks, and a large birthday banner that you can personalize. It also includes a great Pikachu cake topper.

Because the Pokemon franchise has been around so long, and is so popular all around the world, there are a ton of Pokemon accessories to choose from.

If they get thirsty later you can fill up a bunch of Pokemon drink cups. Sealed and with a fun straw poking out the top, they make for great keepsakes for all the birthday guests to take home after the party. Just pour the punch inside these pokeballs and it will disappear as fast as Pikachu on a mission.

Consider a Pikachu costume for the birthday boy or girl. Hand out the Pokemon Puzzle Gum and watch as the kids cooperate in putting it together. Then stand back when they break it apart to chew the gum.

The guests will have tons of fun doing it if there is a Pokemon CD playing. It features the theme song, of course. But it also has the Double Trouble song for Team Rocket and the 2B A Master song. Your little ones will dance up and down when Battle Frontier starts to play.

You’ll be ready to catch all those great memories if you have a Birthday Message camera. Kids can work it, so get a few. It is preloaded with standard 35mm film and has a built-in flash. When the prints are developed any of six birthday messages appear on the photo.

But, hey, where has the time gone? You’d know if you got the Pokemon Twist and Flip watch. More than just a timepiece, it can turn the face and strap to show all kinds of different designs. And the strap features lots of those favorite Pokemon characters too.

But, oh, where has the time gone? The party date is getting nearer. Better jump on all those great Pokemon birthday party stuff while you can.

Before you can think about 1st birthday party ideas like themes and activities, you need to decide where the party will take place and who is going to be there. The location of your party, whether indoor or outdoor, and the number of guests and their ages should guide your 1st birthday party ideas and help you determine which activities are age-appropriate.

Kids’ 1st birthdays are primarily celebrated by the adults in their lives–parents, grandparents, and others. 1st birthday party ideas should be great fun, as well as appropriate for your space. Allowing small children at the party is all right, but you should attempt to limit it to just a few.

Time is another thing that must be considered when you’re brainstorming for 1st birthday party ideas. A baby’s 1st birthday party should usually be only 1 to 2 hours long, any longer and he or she will probably get cranky. This is also why you should try to limit the guest list to only those who are closest to the baby and that the baby knows well. It also makes it a bit easier to come up with some good 1st birthday party ideas.

Smaller groups allow you to plan fun activities for everyone. Little parties let you think about the past year and recognize how far the little scamp has come. For instance, you could decorate a poster-board with some pictures of your child at various milestones, but out of sequence.

Then you can give paper and pencils to the guests and ask them to write the dates of the milestones and place their entries next to the appropriate photo. This is the most challenging of all the 1st birthday party ideas I’ve tried, but also one of the most fun!

It is very simple to find great 1st birthday party ideas when you have a small party–the people who love your little one the most. Looking for party supplies can be cheap and easy if you purchase a full set of theme party necessities online.

Marquee Hire For An Elegant Experience

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

You will be surprised once you have all the facts regarding a marquee hire, and will want to kick yourself for even considering the use of an expensive banquet hall.

Marquee hires are sophisticated structures that can either block out weather extremities, or allow them to enhance the party further. Each structure comes with flaps that can be raised or lowered to experience the amount of weather you desire. The flaps do not take away from the beauty of the marquee apparatus”they only enhance your guests party experience by keeping them safe, dry, and warm. They can be strategically placed anywhere you desire with enough square footage available, so your landscaping or breathtaking views from your home can be shared with all of your guests.

You will find that marquee hires are easy to assemble and can be dismantled just as quickly. There is usually staff from the marquee company on hand at the party just to ensure everything runs smoothly for you. The structures are usually brought down the following day, unless other arrangements have been made to do so. You will also be able to rent the flooring, tables, chairs, and lighting from the company itself unless you have other plans in mind. They also may have catering staff to hire or will provide you with names of other catering companies that can assist you. Using a marquee hire company is just as easy as using a banquet hall facility, with the exception of the large amount of money you will be saving with a marquee hire.

You dont have to fear losing the elegance and grandeur you can find with using banquet halls for your events. Marquee hires have a certain style and class that cannot be experienced in an indoor enclosure. Your guests will note that as well, and compliment you on your decision and outcome of the event. With marquee hires rapidly growing in popularity, youll soon be attending another event where the host has taken ideas directly from your party and included them in theirs.

Fancy Nancy Party Items You Can’t Do Without

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Fancy Nancy acts just like a little princess. This plucky little girl is always cheerful and ready to show others how to have a great birthday party. Let her show you how to enjoy it, too, with lots of Fancy Nancy partyware.

Pick out a Fancy Nancy Deluxe Pack and your serving chores are already half-complete. It contains Fancy Nancy plates, cups, and napkins all decorated with the lovely artwork that made the books such a great success. Lay these out on the table and you’ll be a great success, too.

Be sure to supply each guest with a Fancy Nancy Favor Box. Fancy Nancy loves to play dress up and show others all about fine fashion. You’ll find many examples in the boxes… Butterfly hair clips are just the start. These clever little gift boxes also hold a brush and heart-shaped mirror in pretty pink, just the kind Nancy would love. And when each partygoer pulls out that mini-star wand she can start to work her own magic.

Amplify the magic with a set of full-sized star wand activity kits. Wave your hand and watch everyone spread happiness around like pixie dust. The stars in the kit are made of foam, so you won’t have to need to worry about anyone getting a painful bonk with a plastic point. They’re decorated with pretty pink ribbons and the girls will have lots of fun imagining they’ve turned a toad into a prince.

You’d better get busy constructing the cake, though. Luckily, that’s easy with Fancy Nancy Crown Cake Pans. Fill them with Angel Food dough and watch the fun rise before the first guest even arrives. Watch your birthday girl’s eyes light up when the pink dough fluffs up. Then, when it’s cake time, let the kids slice off the points on the crown to grab a pink heart.

The Fancy Nancy pinata comes in that same crown shape, just to show you that she is the queen of the day. Nancy struts her stuff in regal style on this 18″ supply that you can fill with tons of little toys or candy. You’ll hear shouts of glee when the birthday girl pulls the string and they all come tumbling down.

Of course, where decoration is concerned, you couldn’t do better than a personalized Fancy Nancy Banner. This 61″ wide by 18″ high party decoration can announce that the fun is about to begin. Or, it can just say “Happy Birthday”. You choose the text. But the message is clear anyway: Let the fun begin!

The girls will all have even more fun picking out a faux-pearl necklace. Nancy may prefer a diamond tiara, but these beads are the favorite of all her little friends. Sprinkle on some body crystals and let all the guests feel like royalty.

Ooh, everybody is thirsty now from all the activity. Set them down and fill the Princess Goblets with their favorite juice. You might want to try some yourself before the next round of fun begins…
