John Deere Party Stuff for Countryside Party Fun

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Even in this high-tech age kids still love the same John Deere products that have been around for generations. Decorate your birthday boy’s party with a whole range of John Deere party items and you’ll see.

Setting the table is a piece of cake with John Deere birthday party items. A John Deere Deluxe Pack holds plates, cups, napkins, tablecloth,… everything you need to dish out the dessert. But it also has a set of Thank You notes to send to the guests after the party. Beginning and end. That’s a nice traditional circle.

In between them there are a ton of other John Deere party supplies to make that birthday party full of old-fashioned family fun.

Greet everyone with a John Deere Personalized Birthday Banner. Featuring the tractor that everyone recognizes, you can add your own text. Make the message anything you want.

The 17″ John Deere pinata is also in the form of that famous tractor. Fill it to the brim with candy and small toys and get ready for fun at Marshmallow Farms. The chicken, pig, cow, and sheep are all ready for you at the candy petting zoo. Watch those kids eyes open wide when it all comes tumbling out.

Be sure to catch those expressions by taking some photos with the kids standing next to the John Deere Tractor Stand-in. Just like in carnivals from yesteryear, kids put their head through the hole and smile, smile, smile.

Maybe they’ll look better if they pose with one of the Cowboy Hats, or in a full Horse Costume. They can wrap on a Red Bandana and strap on some spurs. You be sure to put on the Sheriff Badge, though, so they know who is in charge.

For others, you can provide a John Deere Hat and T-shirt. Then, you can bring out the personalized John Deere scroll. It records all the unique events that happened the day your child was born. Moms will delight in reading all about the crazy things that went on, and you’ll swap stories while the kids play.

When it comes time to decorate the cake, be sure to use the John Deere cake topper. There’s that tractor again, wouldn’t you know. But with a cake decorated to look like wheat fields, it’s just the perfect choice. Also comes with a fence (to keep those candy cows out, you know), and three trees. A perfect picture.

The kids will be ready for some fun Coloring & Activity Book action after that, you can bet. With 32 pages and four crayons, they’ll be kept busy.

Afterwards put on the John Deere for Kids DVD. There are entertaining segments on how to harvest pumpkins, backed by lively music, so they’ll be fascinated while you clean up. That job is easy, though, thanks to the Ultimate John Deere Party Pack. You just toss the stuff in the trash and then you can watch and enjoy the video, too.

Ah… Now, aint’ that cozy?

The Magic of Blendy Pens

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Who doesn’t love to color! Blendy Pens provide coloring fun for us all. Non-toxic and washable, Blendy pens are safe for kids. These wonderfully colorful pens let you create some of the most amazing blends of colors that will inspire the critivity in any child, young or old. Create a rainbow of limitless colors with Blendy Pens. You’re sure to have so much fun!

Creating Color Fusion with your Blendy Pens

Fusing the colors of two pens is as simple as choosing the two colors of Blendy Pens that you intend to fuse. Then, place the tips of both pens into a single color fusion chamber, being very careful to ensure that both pens are inserted fully into the color fusion chamber. You’ll hear a clicking sound which tells you that you have, in fact, inserted the pens correctly in place for proper color fusion in the chamber. Now, while using a solid, firm grip, hold the pens in a vertical position with one pen up and the other pen down. Twist and hold each of your Blendy Pens in opposite directions from each other for about five seconds. Be careful not to twist too forcefully as this can cause the fusion chamber or pens to break. Be certain to be firm yet not excessively aggressive when you are twisting and fusing your colors together.

How concentrated your colors become is determined by how long you hold the pens in the color fusion chamber. When fusing your colors, the Blendy Pen on top will mix its color to the Blendy Pen on the bottom. Bear in mind that the pen on top, while using your colors, will not recieve additional color. This is because it si contributing its own color to the pen you are holding at the bottom of the fusion chamber. Upon reaching the desired color concentration on the bottom pen, simply remove the bottom Blendy Pen. This is now the pen having additional color added from the Blendy pen at the top. Your bottom pen is now ready for you to take your chosen color and begin blending.

Several colors can be fused, one right after the other, by using your bottom Blendy pen. Create a magical assortment of blended colors while expanding your expressions of creativity. Go ahead and get wild with your newly-fused, colorful Blendy Pen!

Blendy Pens Coloring Techniques

You should be able to cover an area roughly 2″ by 2″ square with about a five-second color fuse. When your color blend runs out, you only need to fuse it again to begin coloring. Use a side-to-side motion when coloring with your Blendy pens for best results. When you’re ready to clean out the color fusion from your pen, you simply color it out. You’ll find that highly-saturated pens will take a little longer to get fully clean.

A variety of art posters and stickers, all with varying assortments of hidden textures and patterns, are available for you to color. When not in use, you should store your pens inside the fusion chambers in order to keep them ready and fresh for coloring. You could also place them in your Blendy Pen belt. This will ensure that they continue to be secure and safe, ready for your next artistic masterpiece. Everyone has a great time coloring with Blendy Pens!

Before you can think about 1st birthday party ideas like themes and activities, you need to decide where the party will take place and who is going to be there. The location of your party, whether indoor or outdoor, and the number of guests and their ages should guide your 1st birthday party ideas and help you determine which activities are age-appropriate.

Kids’ 1st birthdays are primarily celebrated by the adults in their lives–parents, grandparents, and others. 1st birthday party ideas should be great fun, as well as appropriate for your space. Allowing small children at the party is all right, but you should attempt to limit it to just a few.

Time is another thing that must be considered when you’re brainstorming for 1st birthday party ideas. A baby’s 1st birthday party should usually be only 1 to 2 hours long, any longer and he or she will probably get cranky. This is also why you should try to limit the guest list to only those who are closest to the baby and that the baby knows well. It also makes it a bit easier to come up with some good 1st birthday party ideas.

Smaller groups allow you to plan fun activities for everyone. Little parties let you think about the past year and recognize how far the little scamp has come. For instance, you could decorate a poster-board with some pictures of your child at various milestones, but out of sequence.

Then you can give paper and pencils to the guests and ask them to write the dates of the milestones and place their entries next to the appropriate photo. This is the most challenging of all the 1st birthday party ideas I’ve tried, but also one of the most fun!

It is very simple to find great 1st birthday party ideas when you have a small party–the people who love your little one the most. Looking for party supplies can be cheap and easy if you purchase a full set of theme party necessities online.

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Fancy Nancy acts just like a little princess. This plucky little girl is always cheerful and ready to show others how to have a great birthday party. Let her show you how to enjoy it, too, with lots of Fancy Nancy partyware.

Pick out a Fancy Nancy Deluxe Pack and your serving chores are already half-complete. It contains Fancy Nancy plates, cups, and napkins all decorated with the lovely artwork that made the books such a great success. Lay these out on the table and you’ll be a great success, too.

Be sure to supply each guest with a Fancy Nancy Favor Box. Fancy Nancy loves to play dress up and show others all about fine fashion. You’ll find many examples in the boxes… Butterfly hair clips are just the start. These clever little gift boxes also hold a brush and heart-shaped mirror in pretty pink, just the kind Nancy would love. And when each partygoer pulls out that mini-star wand she can start to work her own magic.

Amplify the magic with a set of full-sized star wand activity kits. Wave your hand and watch everyone spread happiness around like pixie dust. The stars in the kit are made of foam, so you won’t have to need to worry about anyone getting a painful bonk with a plastic point. They’re decorated with pretty pink ribbons and the girls will have lots of fun imagining they’ve turned a toad into a prince.

You’d better get busy constructing the cake, though. Luckily, that’s easy with Fancy Nancy Crown Cake Pans. Fill them with Angel Food dough and watch the fun rise before the first guest even arrives. Watch your birthday girl’s eyes light up when the pink dough fluffs up. Then, when it’s cake time, let the kids slice off the points on the crown to grab a pink heart.

The Fancy Nancy pinata comes in that same crown shape, just to show you that she is the queen of the day. Nancy struts her stuff in regal style on this 18″ supply that you can fill with tons of little toys or candy. You’ll hear shouts of glee when the birthday girl pulls the string and they all come tumbling down.

Of course, where decoration is concerned, you couldn’t do better than a personalized Fancy Nancy Banner. This 61″ wide by 18″ high party decoration can announce that the fun is about to begin. Or, it can just say “Happy Birthday”. You choose the text. But the message is clear anyway: Let the fun begin!

The girls will all have even more fun picking out a faux-pearl necklace. Nancy may prefer a diamond tiara, but these beads are the favorite of all her little friends. Sprinkle on some body crystals and let all the guests feel like royalty.

Ooh, everybody is thirsty now from all the activity. Set them down and fill the Princess Goblets with their favorite juice. You might want to try some yourself before the next round of fun begins…

The Aristocats - A Regal Classic

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

The tag line for The Aristocats was, aptly, “Meet the cats who know where it’s at for fun, music and adventure!” The Aristocats was the twentieth animated feature in the Disney canon. It was purportedly the last film to receive Walt Disney’s personal approval and was the first animated feature released after his death. It was originally intended to be screened in two installments on television, but was quickly promoted to feature status. It should be mentioned that the basic premise of the film, an animated comedy about cats in France, had been realized by UPA with the 1962 release of Gay Purr-ee, starring the voice of Judy Garland.

The story, set in turn-of-the-century Paris, centers around Duchess, voiced by the stunning Eva Gabor, and her three kittens. As the pampered house cat of Madame Bonfamille, a retired opera star, Duchess and her children are named heirs to the diva’s fortune. Outraged, the Edgar the Butler, voiced by Roddy Maude-Roxby, is charged with taking care of the cats until their death, at which point he will inherit the fortune. Blinded by greed, Edgar grabs Duchess and her litter and tries to drown them in a country swamp. His plan is foiled by a pair of farm dogs, Napoleon, voiced by Pat Buttram, and Lafayette, voiced by Bill Thompson. The next day, Duchess and the kittens meet Thomas O’Malley, voiced famously by Phil Harris. O’Malley is a rascal Parisian cat who escorts Duchess back to Paris, where he meets with Scat Cat and his gang of alley cats.

Scat Cat was originally intended as a vehicle for Louis Armstrong. Indeed, even the mannerisms and overall look of the character was modeled on Armstrong. For an unknown reason, Armstrong quit the movie at the last minute, forcing Disney to hire Scatman Crothers to fill in.

The story continues with Duchess returning to Madame Bonfamille’s home, only to be nabbed by Edagr again. A scuffle ensues, involving O’Malley, Scat Cat’s gang, Edgar the Bulter, and Roquefort the house mouse, voiced by Sterling Holloway. Soon the cats are triumphant, with Edgar sent running for his life. All is well again as Duchess and her kittens are welcomed home, along with O’Malley.

The Aristocats was released in 1970 and met with generally good reviews. The animation, for the time, was considered cutting-edge. Moreover, it was a relatively successful film, enjoying a tremendous amount of home rental revenues. It was officially released on VHS, in the United States and Canada, in 1996. The Gold Collection DVD was released in 2000. A new single-disc Special Edition DVD was released on February 5, 2008.
