How To Securely Guard Cherished Home Dvd movies From Getting Damaged

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

You can safely archive your expensive movie and DVD library without the fear of losing your movies to damage by using software to burn copies of your movies. There is new software online makes it easy to preserve your entire movie collection by clicking a few simple steps. Movie burning software will copy exact replicas of your movies on to high quality blank disc.

You may have never thought about the importance of backing up your movies. The benefits are many. If you have to accidently scratch one of your original movie disc, you will have a backup copy on standby. Movies are very costly these days. It just makes good sense to have backup copies.

Stay away from inferior DVD burning programs when you are shopping for DVD copying software. There are a lot of high quality burning programs on the market these days priced just right for consumers. It will also to help to buy high quality DVD blank disc to burn your movies on.

You do not need a high end software program to back up your movies. The more advanced programs available online are designed for highly experienced uses and should not be used by a beginner. Software developers have designed unique movie copy programs that anyone without experience can use effectively.

The software programs that I recommend are designed with the end user in mind. It is made so the average person who is not considered a techie can start backing up movies without any complications. A good burning program should create high quality backups and be easy to operate.

Most computer systems nowadays are capable of running DVD burning software regardless of whether you have a MAC or a PC. Before purchasing any software, always read through the software developer’s technical specifications to make sure that your computer meets all of the operating requirements. This should always be done before you decide to by any software.

Depending on the speed of your computer and system resources, it could take from 45 minutes to one hour to burn a movie. The speed of the burn process is largely determined by the type of software you use and the processor in your computer. Once a movie is complete, an onscreen prompt will pop up alerting you to start another program or to exit the program.

DVD burning software is a great tool to use for backing up time keeps too. Home videos that you took while on a cruise, during a family vacation or of special family moments can be digitally preserved for backup viewing for many years to come. Since some home videos are considered irreplaceable, you should always have back up copies. Not backing them up is a great risk.

A Brief Look At Americas Evolving Passion For Movies

Monday, July 20th, 2009

We are all fascinated with watching movies and seem to all share in a passion to get the latest new release or old vintage classic. It is a past time we all seem to revel in as one of the best forms of public and private entertainment.

How deep is this passion? Each year, we spend millions of dollars buying and renting movies, DVD’s and entertaining films. However, having access to so many movies has not always been so easy.

When you study history, you will see that movie watching was a favorite source of entertainment during some of the most turbulent times in America history. People flocked to theaters during the Great Depression and throughout both world wars.

During the 1920’s sound was first introduced to movies. It was then that you could watch a movie and actually hear the characters for the first time. Movies that cam out with sound technology were instant hits as people fell in love with actors such as Shirley Temple.

There were a many blockbuster hits released during those times. Gangster movies seemed to grow with popularity with the rise of the mob. Women seemed to love watching musicals, plays and intriguing romance stories featuring the best actors of that time.

Even though movies were the best form of entertainment during those times, it did cost money for a ticket and that was a scarcity, especially during the Great Depression. As an alternative to going to the local theater, people resorted to listening to their favorite radio stories such as and very often the entire family would huddle around the radio in dead silence as stories were told.

One of the most popular radio stories was “Little Orphan Annie” about a little girl who was a detective solving mysteries along with her little Children in particular loved this show because Annie often displayed a great sense of child-like imagination.

Musical performances put on by Big Bands were another great hit during the Great Depression. People would listen to these musical shows and stage performances over the radio as an alternative to spending money for movie tickets. It was very popular.

The economic woes during those times may have made life unnecessarily hard, but people seemed to find a way to keep themselves entertained. This is how they had fun and is a testament to their sense of determination to move forward while hoping for better days.

Looking back we have come a long way with movie entertainment. The Internet and advanced technology has taken the movie watching experience to an unlimited level. Not only do we have special cinema and sound effects to include 3D viewing, but entertaining movies have become a common source of entertainment for everyone.

Robin Williams Tickets - Get ‘em While you can

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Robin Williams is one of those names that just about everyone has heard of. He has had a long, successful career full of comedy and dramatic roles and shows. Every role that he has ever taken on, he convinces the audience that he is that person. His talent is beyond exceptional, and anyone who has seen him perform will vouch for this.

Movies like “Mrs. Doubtfire” make us laugh together as a family. “Death to Smoochy”, while funny, was a bit more dark. He can then turn around and play in an extremely dramatic movie like “What Dreams May Come”. It is clear - by this list of movies - that he can play just about any role he is put in - and he does it well. His most recent comedic show, “Weapons of Self Destruction”, will offer nothing but superior comedy as he has in the past.

Robin Williams was born in Chicago, and then raised in Michigan. He was not always a comedian; on the contrary, he was a quiet kid. However, when he did speak up, he was performing some form of comedy. He started with simple impressions of his Grandfather, which he performed for his mother. Even at this point, he was still more of an introvert.

Once he reached high school and joined the drama club, he began to climb out of his shell. Juilliard recognized his talent and he was accepted into their school his freshman year, he was one of only twenty students with this offer! Robin Williams was able to attend Julliard’s advanced program, with only one other student - Christopher Reeves. Everyone knows what amazing actors these men are, and what an honor it must have been for them to attend advanced programs at such a prestigious school. This is where Williams acquired a strong foundation for his skill set.

Robin Williams truly started his career when he played the role of Mork on a popular - but old - TV show called “Mork and Mindy”. Mork was an alien who came to Boulder, Colorado and tried to build a life. This role defined Williams as a comedian with exceptional skills physically and with rapid-fire delivery. As his career expanded, he began playing roles in movies where comedy was his role. Fans that paid close attention would pick up that his roles always went deeper than just comedic value.

Some of his earlier works like “Good Morning Vietnam” and “The Birdcage” are what helped him become noticeable and get his foot in the door. His role as the voice of the animated Genie on Disney’s “Aladdin” was another big stepping-stone in his career.

During the 1970’s and 1980’s, Robin Williams was performing many different stand-up comedy routines, which often sold out. He also performed on three HBO specials, in 1978 - “Off the Wall”, in 1982 - “An Evening with Robin Williams” and in 1986 - “Robin Williams: Live at the Met”. He also performed in a one-man show called “Robin Williams Live on Broadway”, which was very successful for him. He even made it to number 13 on Comedy Central’s list - “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.”

Audiences have recognized his performances in many different movies and shows. His most recent performance is called “Weapons of Self Destruction”. If you have never seen Robin Williams live, now is your chance. If you have seen him live, see him again - you know it’s worth it.
