Guitar Lesson For Beginners - A Great Riff Which Sounds Fantastic In Any Rock/Blues Solo

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Dear Guitar Student,

A FREE guitar lesson for you by myself Mike Jones from KillerGuitarTips.com

In this article I will show you a great little riff that fits in superbly with any rock/blues solo.

Let’s start off with the blues scale in A minor. We will create a killer pull off riff using the same finger technique on each string by adding in a couple of notes at the 7th fret on the 1st and second string.

Let’s give it a go.

Start off by playing the 8th fret on the 1st string with your fourth finger. the you need to pull off to the 7th fret which is held down by your 3rd finger, then pull off again to the 5th fret (1st finger). Carry this out on strings 1,2 and 3, then for your final note on the 7th fret on the 4th string.

This is a superb little guitar riff.

Please bear in mind that these tips are in no particular order. But on my full guitar tutoring program it’s structured in such a way as to follow on in chronological order bringing the beginner through to great player in the shortest possible time.

Enjoy your guitar playing and don’t stop until your fingers bleed!!! only joking,,,

Before I sign off I would just like to give you another FREE mini guitar lesson…

So, to finish here’s a cool pentatonic trick that will make any budding guitarist sound like a pro in any guitar solo. Simply learn the pentatonic scale on one string then pull eac h note off to the open string.

So let’s take the 1st string (top E) and the minor pentatonic scale. So starting with the open E then 3rd fret (G), 5th fret (A), 7th fret (B), 10th fret (D), 12th fret (E).

OK, start by playing the open E string, then play the G and pull off to the open string. Follow on by playing the A at the 5th fret and pull off to the open string.

Simply continue this excercise up the string following the scale to produce a killer riff when all put together…

You may find these instructions a little difficult to understand. That’s because they are picked at random and do not follow a chronological order. However in my brand new audio, video DVD course to be released shortly I will show you step by step in a clear chronological order unique speed learning techniques that will have you progressing at lightning speed.

That’s your lot for this article. Next time I will have some more FREE guitar lessons for you that I hope you will enjoy.

Enjoy

Mike

Learn How To Play Guitar

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

I would bet money on the fact that nearly all men and some women as well have at one time in their life had the desire to learn how to play guitar.

Maybe that is because nowadays guitars would be a lot more accessible as well as the guitars have become a great deal less expensive. Guitars also can be easily taken with you much more than keyboards or some other instruments that makes it more convenient.

To learn how to play guitar today is much easier than it has been in the past. Due to the fact almost ever household has high-speed internet access. To be able to log on and learn is so simple and with streaming videos from you favorite guitar icon allows you to stay motivated and pursue your dream.

If youre a beginner and just starting to learn how to play guitar I would recommend you learn a few simple open chords first. Starting with scales can cause a beginner to become frustrated and give up. Why? A beginners finger tips and finger strength has not yet developed causing them to struggle making the stretch needed to plat the scale patterns.

If you do want to start with scales I would say start with the pentatonic scale.

Anything you can do when you are learning how to play guitar or any instrument for that matter will make a difference. The pentatonic scale contains only 5 notes compared to the major scale that contains 7 notes. By removing 2 notes allows the scale pattern to be 2 notes a string compared to the major scale which requires 3 notes per string.

There will be 2 types of pentatonic guitar scales: the major and the minor. As the name suggests, the major scale would be a great deal harder to comprehend than the minor scale would be. The difference would be that the minor scale is shifted 3 frets from the major scale pattern. The major scale would be typically utilized in pop songs or over major progressions.

There is so much more to cover that is beyond the scope of this post. If you would like you can check back later for my next article or head over to my Blog. Till next time,

Tony D.
