Hip Hop Music And Dance

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

During the last decade, the diversity of elements contained within the brand known as the hip hop music business have been absorbed into other classes of well-liked music. New fusions and mixings of cultural influences have made new sub-genres inside a single class of culturally popular music in degrees that haven’t ever been seen before.

The artist known as Neo has taken the hip hop music business by storm with his current releases that blend hip hop with classical soul melodies. In other nations, like the Dominican Republic, as an example, artists like Lisa M have mixed their own cultural influences like Merenque with the american hip hop music business to form their own genres inside it, like merenrap.

Due to higher immigrant populations, Manhattan City’s hip hop music business has seen the upward thrust of Jamaican cultural influences in new music releases during the 1990s. New artists like De La Soul and Black Star have attained popularity due to the mix of hip-hop and reggae.

Around the world, the hip-hop music business has started to move from an underground culture into a main line renown, by continuing to blend the standard hip hop music into the music of their own cultures. Britain has their own version of American hip hop music business going, and Germany has their Die Fantastichen Vier as a big competitor for Britain in the western european hip hop music business. Azad, Kool Savas and the cartel are all from Turkey, while France has IAM,a s well as MC Solaar the Sengalese star. Wherever you look, a kind of hip hop business is rising, from the north to the south.

Even in the East, the influence of the hip hop music business can be seen. The Philippines has stars like Rap Pacific Rim and woman Diane to compete against Japan’s preferred artists bring a cultural sub-genre known as J-Rap to the mix. Even the Latino world culture has had its influence in the hip hop music business. From the beginnings of hip hop, the Latin sound has played a massive role in the approval for certain styles and beats, and continues today with new artists like Cypress Hill.

The second largest hip hop music business in the world , however , has its roots in Brazil. The lyrics have their roots in racial and industrial issues like the American version, and its forceful rhythms drive home forceful stories of life in the roughest and biggest of the area. Groups like Rappin Hood and Thaide have left an indelible mark on today’s music scene.

From America to our neighbors to the south and on to the remainder of the world as a whole, no music has bound nations together in a virulent sub-culture of music as the hip hop music business. The techno beats and cultural rhythms that wind their way through the popular releases of today all share a typical history of strife, survival and triumph that cannot be duplicated easily by any other brand. What was assumed to have originated in the united states is essentially a combination of many world cultures, and has carved a place for itself with lots of other musical genres. Opera Glasses- A Closer Look

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Devices to improve eyesight in general have been around for hundreds of years. It was not until the 1800’s that opera glasses achieved their position as a status symbol among theater-goers of the day.

Opera was also an important social event. People attending the opera wanted to be able to see and be seen and often spent time scanning the audience as well. To do this, they needed a simple and convenient magnifying device. Opera glasses were the perfect solution.

Opera glasses rapidly became status symbols and ways for people to show off their wealth. If you had the money to attend the opera you wanted others to know it. And a great deal of business was conducted at intermission as well. A huge portion of the high society social calendar was taken up by opera season.

People found ways to make the glasses much more ornate. They became an accessory that told a lot about the owner’s social status. They often featured elaborate cases made of precious metals or that were highly enameled. Inlays of mother-of-pearl and other precious materials also became quite common. There were also several variations that became popular. They included the lorgnette, with a handle that allowed you to hold the glasses up to your face. There was also a folding version that was popular as it could be collapsed and stored in a purse or other case.

There are a number of places where you can find and purchase opera glasses. They still come in a range of different models and prices can range from the very reasonable to the extremely expensive. You may need to look a bit to find ones that fit your needs and your budget. Good starting places include camera stores and some Internet sites.

One thing to look at when selecting your opera glasses is what the level of magnification is. Unlike a telescope or high powered binoculars, you will want to make sure that there is a fairly low level of magnification. A 3x magnification factor is considered ideal. This allows you to get a large field of view and it will keep shaking from hand movement as low as possible.

Once you know what your options are you can decide what style you are interested in. They still come in folding and lorgnette styles. There are compact models which will fold down into plastic cases which can make them more durable for outside use. This could be handy at an outdoor concert or at a rock concert where you may accidentally drop them.

If you are someone who wants to view theatre performances but are not able to pay high prices for your tickets, then opera glasses might be a good solution for you. It will allow you to feel in touch with the past and still enjoy the fine details of modern performances from anywhere in the theater.

Jeff Bridges has always loved the theater and opera, he currently helps run an opera glasses retail site where they sell opera glasses. Including Opera Glasses with handle, flashlight, chain and more!

Opera Glasses and Hairspray: A Musical Review

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Hairspray, is a musical set in Maryland 1962. Our story revolves around Tracy, an overweight high schooler, Tracy would love to become famous, and is prepared to do something about it. This musical is fast-paced, and colorful, to make sure that you don’t miss a beat, remember to bring along your opera glasses.

One day, our hero, is watching T.V. And finds out that That the Corny Collins Show is having a huge dance contest, excitedly Tracy tells her mother that she would like to enter the contest. Her mother, who is overweight like Tracy discourages the idea that Tracy has had. In reality, Tracy’s mother, would like nothing more to protect her daughter, as she knows that people will make fun of her for being overweight. Additionally, her mother feels that the show is racist.

Tracy does make it to the audition with permission from her father, Wilbur. While she is auditioning she meets the popular hunk Link Larkin. Get ready to put on your opera glasses as you will want to catch Tracy’s eyes light up just as yours may have back in high school. Tracy daydreams that she and Link Larkin will end up together one day. She sings absolutely beautiful songs about her love sick dream. Tracy is awakened from her sweet dream as she does not make the cut to be on the show due to her weight, just as her mother suspected would happen.

Broken hearted Tracy returns to school, but her troubles do not end there, almost immediately Tracy if given detention, due to her hair being so large, that those who sat behind her, could not even see past her! For this reason, the musical Hairspray, is given its name.

As Tracy sits in detention feeling sorry for herself she meets a nice black boy named Seaweed, Seaweed is a great dancer, and teaches Tracy some amazing dance moves. A dance party is scheduled for the school, and Tracy decides to attend despite her recent run of very bad luck. This time Tracy’s luck is about to change, attending the dance, is the owner of the Corny Collins Show, the show that is to feature the dance contest, as he watches the dancers he notices the moves that Tracy puts on, he falls in love with her dance style, and chooses Tracy to dance on his show. Tracy is ecstatic to find out that at long last she will be on the show! Make sure you are using your opera glasses at this point.

Tracy gets more good news, Link Larkin is to sing a romantic song to her. Another character, Amber, who is the snobby pretty girl is quite upset. At school Amber does some mean things to Tracy which includes whacking her head with a volleyball and knocking Tracy out.

As we continue with the play, Tracy is invited to record shop that Seaweed’s mother owns, all during the play, Tracy continues to grow close to Seaweed, and is upset to find out that the show that she is about to go on, only allows black people to attend their shows once a month, on “Negro Day” because of this Tracy finds herself fighting for black rights, and helping her best friend, the ending of Hairspray the musical is sure to please, but you will have to attend to find out.

Hairspray is a delight to attend, and a bigger delight to hear, it is no wonder it made such a run on Broadway, Remember to bring your opera glasses to catch every last expression, and the wonderful costumes. This is truly a performance to cherish.

The E.N.D. Is the Greatest Album Yet

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

The Black Eyed Peas just released their latest, fifth album to mixed reviews, perhaps because some fans have now gotten away from the music of the BEP’s and perhaps because they have gotten to listen to Fergie on her own, a few people were disappointed in this album, however it must be said that this seems to be some of their best collaborative work to date.

The sound is not revolutionary, but familiar. They are offering up a new danceable play list which includes some similarity to hits past. If you like their music however, you wont be disappointed, because however similar this music is to tracks that have past, the current sounds are still a bit different and the lyrics range from the moving to the bizarre.

The E.N.D., which stands for Energy Never Dies, includes fifteen tracks from hip hop to booty shaking. It has a heavy beat party sound, more then any album they have done in the past. Even if you are not a dancer, these tracks will have you wanting to get out of your seat and joining everyone on the dance floor.

In time for the summer party season, many of these tunes will be top 40 hits and will be heard blaring from car windows as well as home stereo systems everywhere. If you haven’t heard the amazingly successful sound of their first hit single Boom Boom Pow off the new album, this is just a preview to this incredible album.

It is difficult to believe that anyway could think this group is going anywhere but up, especially with all there enthusiasm and energy. With a funky sound, influences by music from past and today, keeps the band fresh and fans constantly wanting more. This album is everything a true fan of the Black Eye Peas would expect and more.
