The youthful, Jewish WW2 martyr warranted a far more superior production than this overlong, uninspiring melodrama. Cast includes Ellen Burstyn, Maruschka Detmers, Anthony Andrews, Donald Pleasence, David Warner, Denholm Elliott, Vincenzo Ricotta, and Ingrid Pitt. (148 minutes, 1988)

Good Will Hunting: Four performing-style buddies hang out together in South Boston, although one of them has an uncommon present: he’s a prodigy. When math professor Skarsgiird gets wind of this, he demands that the youthful guy halt trashing his abilities, and sends him to a psychologist! Professor Williams tries to fracture his brittle shell. This is a well-performed fiction written by co-stars Damon and Ben Affleck that doesn’t fall short with a lack of excellent characters. Cast includes Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck,Minnie Driver, SteIlan Skarsgiird, Casey Affleck, and Cole Hauser. (126 minutes, 1997)

Cruel Intentions: Kathryn and Sebastian, brother and sister through marriage, begin to play a very cruel game. It starts when Kathryn’s boyfriend Court dumps her. To get back she asks Sebastian to sleep with Cecile, Courts new girl, who is still a virgin. After that he sets his sight on a tougher target, Annette, who has said in Seventeen Magazine that will stay a virgin until married. Kathryn thinks it is impossible so a bet is made. If Sebastian wins, Kathryn will have to sleep with him.
