Alice: One of Woody’s “compartment films” with Farrow as the mousy coddled spouse of prosperous Hurt, trying to find herself, and considering the unthinkable an extramarital event. With that cast, it’s positively enjoyable, although the whimsy appears strained, the tale excessively recognizable. Cast includes Mia Farrow, Alec Baldwin, Caroline Aaron, Holland Taylor, Robin Bartlett, Bob Balaban, and Elle Macpherson. (106 minutes, 1990)

Absolute Power: Alan Richman, the President of the United States, gets a little too rough with Christy, the lady he is having an affair with. When she grabs a letter opener and fights back, she is shot dead by two secret service agents. A burglar was in the house and witnessed the whole event. He gets away, and takes the letter opener as evidence of what really happened. Now he is on the run, as the people in power want to take down the only man that can expose the truth.

Blow: This movie is based on a true story. It chronicles the rise of George Jung, as he rose from nothing to be the key mover of cocaine for the Columbians in the US. During his hay day he was making upwards of $30 million a year. He rides this wave as long as he can, until authorities finally take him down.

Donnie Brasco: The absolutely unbelievable true story of Joe Pistone, the first cop to fully infiltrate the mafia in the US. He assumes the name Donnie Brasco, a jewel man. He is shut off from his family for years, must participate in criminal acts, and every time he meets with the bosses feels he could have been figured out, and is going to be killed.

A Little Sex: This movie is essentially an R-rated Television-film, with Matheson wedding long-time girlftiend Capshaw wishing it can break him of his habit of chasing woman. Cast includes Tim Matheson, Kate Capshaw, Edward Herrmann, John Glover, Joan Copeland, Susanna Dalton, Wendie Malick, Wallace Shawn, Melinda Culea, and Bill Smitrovich. (95 minutes, 1982)

Double Impact: 25 years ago, in Hong Kong, 6 months old twins Alex and Chad lose their parents when they are murdered by the Chinese mob. If it wasn’t for the efforts of Frank Avery, the kids would be dead too. Now, for the first time since that night, the boys are reunited. With the help of Frank they now pursue the one man that got away from the scene. They want two things, to avenge the death of their parents, and to recover the family riches.
