Kenny Chesney is a country music superstar, although his first release, titled “In My Wildest Dreams”, was released to lackluster sales in 1994 on independent label Capricorn Records. However, singles from the album proved that there was a fan base for Kenny’s music, and his subsequent albums have proven this.
Eleven of Kenny’s first thirteen albums have been certified gold or higher. Although his debut on Capricorn was not the blockbuster that his later albums became, the singles from the album, “The Tin Man” and “Whatever It Takes” did touch the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts, extreme success for an independent release. Unfortunately, Capricorn Records did not continue to publish country music after that year.
Kenny Chesney has released more than thirty top ten country hits since his first release, including a whopping seventeen that peaked at number one. He has won four consecutive Entertainer of the Year American Country Music awards and six awards from the Country Music Association.
