Effectively Eliminate Useless Cravings With Natures Convenience Foods
It really isn’t too far off to propose that having just green smoothies could provide just about every thing that the human body requires to be healthy. Short of perhaps Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D, I believe, these beverages supply it all (including protein). The trouble I had when I started off on green smoothies were the unhealthy cravings. I’d like to start off by saying that the contents of this article just my opinion which is based on information I have read about natural health and from the 10+ years eating and living the way I have daily. Couple that with my blood work done twice each year which indicates no deficiencies, I feel this information is valid. Perhaps it works just for me, my genetic makeup and my body type, I can’t say for certain. However, just like cigarette smoke will affect each one of us with varying degrees of health negatives, green smoothies, I believe, will affect each one of us with varying degrees of health positives. Try it for yourself, after you speak with your natural, or other, health practitioner first of course.
The body is designed to heal itself right? If that’s the case, why are people sick? Maybe it’s an inaccurate statement, and the body is not equipped to heal itself? No! The trouble is that men and women a) do not provide it with the suitable amount of tools, by way of diet for the most part, it needs to reset itself and b) we constantly bombard our body with junk that hinders the operation of the small amount of proper resources that we actually do supply it.
I’m a big admirer of raw foods. The suggestion that adding heat to food over and above a specific temperature destroying much needed enzymes that are important for assimilation makes plenty of sense to me. Further, it is implied that to get the most from our food we should chew it until it’s completely liquefied. We have troubles handling big morsels of food. Also, I feel that people can survive off of a diet of mostly fruits and dark green leafy vegetables, with of course some healthy fats. For the healthy fats, avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I eat.
My main meals each an every day consist of lots of raw fruits and green vegetables in the form of green smoothies. Being that they are in a liquid state, my body is able to assimilate the nutrients without a problem.
A giant hurdle for some when changing diets, and a big one for me is handling cravings for unhealthy foods. Just like someone that has addiction to alcohol or drugs must go through a detox in an effort to heal, we essentially must to do a similar thing. Our cells are made up of stuff from foods that we have consumed in the past. The body usually craves much of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the contents of each one of the cells in our bodies. With a drug detox, often times, sauna therapy is used to removes the drugs through perspiration. This usually helps to eliminate the physical drug cravings allowing the person a better chance at sobriety. For us, adjusting our eating habits may influence the clearing of toxic foods as well which can be naturally removed in stool, through sweat and our pee. However, we may still having cravings for those foods while some of the toxins in our cells are still there.
I, myself, have found that immediately after having the first drink of my green smoothie my cravings for grease, meat, salt, etc started to diminish. After I was done drinking the smoothie, the unhealthy cravings vanished completely and I’d be fulfilled. The problem then was that the unhealthy cravings would come back as I became hungry. So I started to make certain I was on top of it and would have another green smoothie prepared before the cravings would come back, or shortly after they began. The unhealthy cravings in due course subsided for good as I became cleaner. Suddenly I started to crave greens instead!
