The new equipment is of course very nice but it will be extremely expensive and most likely out of your price range. Starting off with some gently used DJ equipment is nothing to be embarrassed about. Once you start making some good money with your new skill you will be able to upgrade into some newer and more high tech equipment.

This way, if you find that the DJ career is not all that you thought it was cracked up to be, you are not out thousands of dollars. But no matter what you spend on the DJ equipment, you should have no problem selling the equipment in order to get back the money that you spent on the equipment.

Online classifieds are the best place to start. Within these ads you will most likely find some people who tried their hand at the career and found that they just did not have the skill or the business mentality to make it work. You can take advantage of their misfortune by purchasing their used DJ equipment.

Something that you want to keep in mind though is that you will probably want to kind someone who is selling their equipment locally. Think of how heavy all of the equipment can be. If you tried to have everything shipped you are going to be looking at a good bit of money just in shipping expenses alone. Of course if you are getting one incredible deal on the used DJ equipment then it is worth it.

In the end, you will probably feel best by finding someone that is local and can meet you in person. By meeting the seller in person you should be able to test out the equipment. This will allow you the opportunity to test everything before you spend all of your hard earned cash so that you are not finding yourself scammed.

When it is all said and done with you want to find yourself with a wonderful sounding, yet slightly used, DJ equipment set up. You want to watch how much you spend and double check to make sure that what you are purchasing is actually going to work for you by testing it out. If you can get the seller to give you a warranty of at least thirty days then all the better.
